Welcome to the CNCB Academy of science and Technology English Department. Language is our primary source of communication. It's the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others. In today’s global world, the importance of English can't be denied and ignored since English is the most common language spoken at many places. In scientific field, English is the most widely documented language. Our English courses provide students of all academic interests with a strong foundation in critical and expressive skill. Our main aim is to relieve our students from the fear of English and help them in using English language as a weapon in their career development and life. We help them in developing their English reading, writing and expression skills through everyday practice in addition to the Utkal university curriculum, so as enabling our students use English comfortably and smartly at time of need as well as qualify international English language tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc. We also help students in developing their presentation skills in English in lieu of preparing them as future leaders in career and life. We also train them in-group discussion about the current happenings in everyday world so as honing their knowledge and expression capability to face the challenges in their surroundings.
Our classes are lively, interactive spaces where students are encouraged to share their own perceptions, ask (engaging) searching questions and (participate) engage in discussions in an atmosphere that fosters self-expression balanced with respect for the right of others to voice their opinions. In our teaching we emphasize the craft of close literary reading alongside the craft of writing, whether creative or critical.
The department of English language and literature aims to teach all the students it serves, to write and speak well and to read skillfully, thoughtfully and with pleasure. We also give our students opportunities to experiment with a variety of new fields, theoretical perspectives and linguistic developments, and to pursue creative writing of their own. The English department of CNCB Academy of science and Technology values small class sizes and personal contact between students and teachers. Our faculty approaches to the students to include close reading of texts, performing texts. We provide our best to the students of our college.
